Hi, I'm Courtney.

I am a family and newborn portrait artist in North Louisiana- from Ruston to Shreveport! I am passionate about creating a joyful and fun experience while making you feel comfortable and at ease.

I am small town girl. I grew up in the middle of nowhere and I still live in the middle of nowhere, right in between Minden and Homer, Louisiana. It's where I am most comfortable. I do not have a thing for big cities for very long.

When I was about 16 I received my first DSLR camera. I photographed anything and everything I could. My little sister was one of the many things on that list. Everything I didn't know about this new camera, I would google. I literally learned so much from youtube and google! I basically graduated top of class at Google High. HA!! This is where Courtney Dexter Photography was born.

My life's ambition is to serve the Lord with all of my heart and to serve His people the best way that I can. I believe He gave me a gift for photography and I want to use it well to bless His people. I have poured myself into learning and I pray He blesses my efforts.

I am a mom of two little girls. Both of which I homeschool. Any other homeschool moms out there?

I love getting to know you and your family and finding ways to win the little one's trust. Having two littles of my own, I know all about how spunky, cranky, happy, angry, etc., etc., etc., they can be in a matter of minutes. It's all a part of being young and that's ok. You have to love them. I also understand that our little ones get nervous and may act different in front of someone new (aka: me) so I make it a point to get on their level and let them know that we can be friends.

I have a passion for photographing the joy that each family shares and documenting the here and now. As a mom myself, I know that time FLIES. Our babies are only babies once. Our children are only the age and size they are now, right now. Tomorrow they will be a little older and a little bigger. Because of this sad reality, photography is so important. It takes our precious moments right now and freezes time forever. We can look back on these wonderful memories for years and years.
